The acids do not show acidic behaviour in absence of water because in the absence of water acids do not dissosiate to give H+ aquous ions.

The acids do not show acidic behavior in the absence of water because there is no production of H^+ ions.

Acids are any inorganic or organic compounds with hydrogen atoms. Generally, all the acids are considered to be weak. So, they dissociate into ions easily in the "polar solvents" such as water.

The concept of acidic behavior arises due to the presence of {tex}H^+{/tex} ions. The acids when dissolves in water only produce {tex}H^+{/tex} ions. So, acid does not have any acidic behavior in "absence of water".

Acids do not show acidic behaviour in water bcoz they need to be kept in aqueous solution to get h3o+ ion that is hydrinium ion. This is why acid do not show acidic behavior in absence of water
