It is the situation when shot circuit occurs due to the use of more than one high voltage appliances from a switch or a source of power .Due to this overall resistance increase and lot of heat produce and the plastic covering of metal wire melt and positive and negative terminal come in contact and sparking arise

The current in a circuit depends on the rating of the appliances connected to it. The choice of wires depends upon the maximum current estimated to pass through them. If the total power rating of the appliances exceeds this permitted limit, they tend to draw a large current. This is known as overloading due to excessive heating takes place.

Overloading occurs when too many appliances are connected in a single socket or live and neutral wires come in contact with each other.

Current circulating in the circuit becomes more than the capacity in the circuit to withstand the current, this situation is known as overloading.
