It changes from 0 to -1 and 0 to +5 ...... When cl2 gas react with hot and conc. NaOH it disproportionate into chloride(Cl^-) and chlorate (ClO3)..... ?✌️✌️ Hope it helps......

The balanced chemical equation is given below :-> 6NaOH + Cl2 --> 5NaCl + NaClO3 + 3H2O Chlorine changes its oxidation state from 0 to -1 in NaCl and +5 in NaClO3.
