Its simple , it is given that all three points are collinear i.e. area of points A,B&C is zero. So by putting formula: Area of points A,B&C =1/2 [X1 (Y2-Y3) + X2 (Y3-Y1) + X3 (Y1-Y2)] Where , Area=0, X1=(k+1), X2=3k, X3=(5k-1), Y1=2k, Y2=(2k+3), and Y3=5k. We get X=2 and X=1/2..
