Henry Ford drew inspiration for the assembly line method from a Chicago slaughter house. He implemented it in his new car plant in Detroit. This involved the worker doing a process continuously and repeatedly, like fixing a part to the car. The speed of the work done was decided by the conveyor belt. So the workers couldn't' take a break or even have a friendly conversation with a fellow workmate.
