Decompsers and scavengers break down dead plants and animals. They also break down the waste of other organisms decomposers are very important for an ecosystem if they were not in the ecosystem the plant would not get essential nutrients and dead matter and waste would pile up

material that died or which are useless only occupy space.Suppose that their are not any decomppser in our environment then all thing such as fruit dead bodies and other part of living thing never decompose left as they are and suppose this process going years and years then their is nonspace left on the earth all occupied by the dead part .Decompser return back organism into the soil and make our environment pollution free.
