If we draw the figure for given question we will see a right triangle AOP right angled at P. [It is to be noted that tangent and radius form an angle of 90° at the point of contact.] In ∆AOP Cos ( angle APO ) = AP/OA Cos 45° = 5/OA 1 = 5/OA OA = 5 cm Hence, the radius of the given circle is 5 cm.
