Budhist missionaries from China introduce hand-printing technology into japan around AD-768-770.The oldest japanese Book,printed in AD-868,is the Buddhist Diamond sutra, containing six sheets of text and woodcut illustration.

There have been many resources about hand printing and the entire printing culture in South Asia and abroad. The Buddhist missionaries from China and adjoining area brought hand printing and advanced printing technologies to Japan. This was around AD 768-770. There was the oldest Japanese book, printed in AD 868 that is called the Buddhist diamond sutra contains six different varieties of colourful printed sheets and illustrations as well.
