Given: secA = x+1/4x secA ^2 =(x+1/4x) ^2 (Squaring both the sides) tanA^2 + 1 = x^2 + 1/16x^2 + 1/2 tanA^2 = x^2 + 1/16x^2 + 1/2 - 1 tanA^2 = x^2 + 1/16x^2 - 1/2 tanA ^2 = (x - 1/4x) ^2 tanA = x - 1/4x AS PER QUESTION : secA +tanA = x +1/4x + x - 1 /4x secA +tanA = x + x = 2x.... HENCE PROVED
