The Himalayan Yew is a species of the Yew trees that grows in the temperate regions of the world. The name is most prominently given to any of various coniferous trees and shrubs in the genus Taxus. It is important because: the bark of the tree provides Taxol, an effective medicine to fight cancer.The needles and the bark is also used as a sedative and a remedy for respiratory illness in the Unani medicine.often butter tea is produced from the bark of the tree.
