But if we see another image of Bharar mata which is in contrast to the ones is painted by Abanindranath Tagore we can see that she is shown with a trishul, standing beside a lion and an elephant, symbol of power and authority.

The image of Bharat Mata was first created by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay but was first painted by Abanindranath Tagore. She is portrayed as an ascetic figure, calm, composed, divine and spiritual. She is shown as mother figure, dispensing clothing, food and learning. The mala in one hand shows her ascetic quality.

Germania was the female allegory of German nation. She wears a crown of oak leaves because German oak stands for heroism. She also holds a sword in her hand. The sword shows readiness to fight.
