Between 1970 and 1993 they amended their constitution four times so as to enable everyone to live together in the same country.

constitution prescribes that the number of dutch and French speaking ministers shall be equal in the central govt.
may powers of the central govt have been given to the state govt of the two regions of the country.
Brussels had a separate form of govt in which both the communities have equal representation.
apart from the two govts called central and the state.there is a form of govt called the community govt.this is elected by people belonging to one language community.ex:French ,dutch,German speaking.
