Sia ? 5 years, 1 month ago

The 6th century BCE is regarded as a major turning point in early Indian history for the following reasons:

  1. It is an era associated with early states, cities, the growing use of iron, the development of coinage, etc.
  2. This era witnessed the growth of the diverse system of thoughts like Buddhism and Jainism.
  3. Iron axes and ploughshares came into the scene. With the help of these tools, it became easier to clear forest around the mid-gangetic plains, and with the iron ploughshare agriculture productivity increased manifolds.
