(1) - Cotton Weaver's export market collapsed and local market shrank. (2) - Machines made cotton clothes were so cheap , that Indian weavers couldn't easily compete with them. (3) - As American Civil War broke out and cotton supplies from US cut off , Indian Weavers couldn't get sufficient amount of raw cotton. (4) - Moreover, raw cotton exports from India increased , so that Indian weavers couldn't get enough raw cotton and were forced to buy raw cotton at exorbitant price.
