It has fully filled valence shell in ground state but in any compound it show +2 oxidation

The reason behind is that according to definition of transition elements Transition elements are those elements which have incompletely filled d orbitals in either free state or in its oxidarion state. So, silver does not follows this defination of transition elements.

According to ncrt transtion elements are those which have incomplete d-orbital in ground state or in common oxidation state

Sinchana Malagond 5 years, 7 months ago

even though silver has completely filled d orbital it is not considered as a transition element because silver exist in + 2 oxidation state. the two electrons are removed from the d orbital and for stability purpose and the d orbital becomes in completely filled thus making it a not a transitional element.
