Algae are responsible for the maximum fixation of carbon dioxide on the earth . Being photosynthetic , they increase the level of disslove oxygen in their immediate environment as durning photosynthesis oxygen is realeased and carbon dioxide is absorbed from the surroundings. Hence , they are quite helpful to increase the level of oxygen.
