Mehak Gautam 5 years ago

In some plants the fruit develops without fertilization and this phenomenon is known as parthenocarpy The parthenocarpic fruits can be induced artificially through the application of growth hormones and such fruits are seedless. Apomictic seeds are produced in some species when the diploid egg cell is formed without reduction division and develops into the embryo without fertilisation.
