Let’s find mean of the data using assumed mean method.
We are using assumed mean method to avoid miscalculation and false answer, as xi's are large in this question.
First, construct a table for ease of calculation.
Mean is given by
{tex}\bf{Mean=A+\frac{\Sigma f_id_i}{\Sigma f_i}}{/tex}
Where A = assumed mean
{tex}\bf{Mean=325+\frac{-600}{50}}{/tex}
Mean = 325 – 12 = 313
Thus, mean daily wages of the workers is Rs. 313.
