ANSWER: The idea is to organise poor people especially women into small self help groups(SHGs) and collect their savings.Members in SHGs meet and save money regularly.They can take small loans from the group to meet their needs.The group charges less interest.When the group is regular in savings,loan is sanctioned in the name of the group and it becomes eligible for availing loan from the bank.
