1. People were been asked to break the colonial law , thousands of people break the salt law , manufactured salt and demonstrated in front of government salt factories. 2. As the movement start , foreign cloths were boycotted and liquor shops were picketed 3. Peasants refused to pay revenue and chaukidari taxes , village officials resigned and in many places the forest people violated forest law going into the reserved forest to collect wood and graze cattle
