Formation - Alluvial soil is made up of sand, silt and clay deposited by rivers like Ganga, kaveri, etc.
Distribution - Alluvial soil covers the most of the parts of India about 45% . It covers almost all the northern plains area
Nutrients - It is rich in potash, phosphoric acid, and nitrogen. Moreover it is also a rich source of humus.
