We use distance formula for finding the distance between two points (like distance between A to B )& we use section formula to find the rotio of the sector of line which is divided into two (or more) parts , for ex; suppose AB is a line and P is the point on AB so by section formula we can find the distance AP and BP and its coordinates also.

To find the distance btw two point ......if we have to find the ratio in which line joining btw two coordinate is divided by a coordinate we use section formula.....
