  • They are organized in the form of village health centres, primary health centre and district hospitals. Government hospitals are present in urban areas as well.
  • To fulfil its commitment of providing healthcare to all citizens, the government has established these hospitals and health centres
  •  Resources necessary to run these services are obtained from the money we, the public, provide as taxes. These services are meant for everyone and therefore, are called ‘public’.
