They cover both rural and urban and also can provide treatment to all kinds of problems – from common illnesses to special services.
They are organized in the form of village health centres, primary health centre and district hospitals. Government hospitals are present in urban areas as well.
To fulfil its commitment of providing healthcare to all citizens, the government has established these hospitals and health centres
Resources necessary to run these services are obtained from the money we, the public, provide as taxes. These services are meant for everyone and therefore, are called ‘public’.
