Let the greater number be x and the smallest number be y. ATQ, 2x-45= y.........1 and y -21= x........2 Add up the equations 1 and 2 now. Then it comes x-66= 0 It implies that x=66 and then substitute the value of x in equation 1 such that it will become 132 - 45 = 87
