ADVANTAGES. In 1861 when American civil war started , cotton imports from america fell to 3% of the total imports.because of which british started sending frantic messages to sahukars to the cotton production. These sahukars presured the rural moneylenders to increase the production. Because of peasants could get seemingly limitless credit . This increased the invesment of peasants , inturn they started growing . This was also the time when prices soared so, it was beneficial for the peasant . It was even more beneficial for moneylenders since they inappropriated the which they got. DISADVANTAGES As soon as civil war ended British stared its cotton imports from america again . Which our peastants helpless since there produce was of no use. Bales of cotton was lying its value to decreased to marginal levels . The money which our peastants has took from moneylender at exorbitant rate of interest was pilling up and tgey didn't had any way out to reduce the debt which had accumulated over the years. Farmers were more infuriated from moneylenders because of the fact that they were there owm people yet they were notat all sensitive towards towards thereown farmers .
