The merits and demerits of democracy are: merits of democracy: 1. A democratic government is is more accountable to the people. 2. As a large number of people are consulted in the decision making process, democracy improves the quality of the decisions made. 3 . It provides a method to deal with conflicts and differences. Demerits of of democracy : 1. Elected leaders may not be aware of the changes changes happening or decisions taken by the people. 2. Involvement of electoral system in democracy. 3. People collecting the goods hence they should not be a part of decision making people or changing the decision.
