answer : 4.608 × 10^-8 N
charge on alpha particle , Q = +2e = 2 × 1.6 × 10^-19 C = 3.2 × 10^-19 C
charge on electron, q = -e = -1.6 × 10^-19C
seperation between electron and alpha particle , r = 1A° = 10^-10 m
from Coulomb's law,
magnitude of force between electron and alpha particle , F = K|q||Q|/r²
= 9 × 10^9 × (1.6 × 10^-19)(3.2 × 10^-19)/(10^-10)²
= (9 × 10^9 × 5.12 × 10^-38)/(10^-20)
= (9 × 5.12) × 10^(9-38+20)
= 46.08 × 10^-9 N
= 4.608 × 10^-8 N
hence, magnitude of force between electron and alpha particle is 4.608 × 10^-8 N. and nature of force is attractive because charge are in opposite in nature.
