The name Mesopotamia is derived from the Greek words mesos meaning middle and potamos meaning river. Why Mesopotamia meaning is middle river,because Mesopotamia is established two river middle. This river is tigris and Euphrates. Archeology in Mesopotamia began in the 1840s.At one or two sites including uruk and mari.but the present time Euphrates and tigris rivers that is now part of the republic of irak.ur,lagash,kish,uruk and mari were some of important city

The name Mesopotamia is derived from the Greek words mesos, meaning middle, and potamos, meaning river. The Mesopotamia is city which was situated between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers. The important centres of this civilization was Sumer, Akkad, Babylonia, Assyria, Ur, Uruk, Mari.

Mesopotamia is a Greek word which means ‘The land between the two rivers'. It was so called because the whole area of Mesopotamian civilization was planked by the two rivers, Tigers and Euphrates.
The important centres of this civilization were Sumer, Babylonia, Akkad and Assyria.
