Let f(x)=x2-3x+2=

=x2-2x-x+2

=x(x-2)-(x-2)

=(x-1)(x-2)

Now let g(x)=x2-4x+3=(x-1)(x-3)

We find that x-1 is common factor of f(x) and g(x)

HCF=x-1
