In the politics of India, caste system plays a predominant role in Indian constitution.
Majority of political parties in India require the support of a particular caste to win elections.
Political parties favour some castes and their representatives to acquire support in elections.
People generally term a caste as “vote bank” because a large portion of votes come from that caste
No parliamentary constituency in the country has a majority of single caste. Hence to win the elections, every candidate and party has to gain support and confidence of more than one caste or community
