So x square + x+1 whole square =306 And factors are +18and -17 So x= 17 x+1 = 17+1=18

Abhishek Jain 6 years, 4 months ago

We have to let the consecutive positive integers be x and x+1 So x(x+1)=306

Let two consecutive positive integers =x,x+1 Product of two consecutive integers=306 X(x+1)=306 X square+x-306=0 By quadratic formula -b+-√d\2a -1+-√1-4(1)(-306)/2 -1+-√1225/2 -1+-35/2 X=-1+35/2=34/2=17 Or x=-36/2=-18 So x=17 So two consecutive positive integers=17and17+1=18
