Salt law, made by the british govt was the most vickedly designed law.It prevents the Indians from manufecturing or selling the salt. They had monopoly on salt production ,compelling Indians to buy it at a high price. MG decided to defy this law by manufacturing salt from sea water.By doing this he challenged the British rule in India.People were not only asked to refuse cooperation with British, but to break the unjustified colonial laws. Thousands of people all over India broke the Salt law, manufectured it and demonstrated infront of govt salt factories.SaltMarch inspired people from different segments of our society and became our effective tool of resistance against the colonial power.
