The amount of Oxygen dissolved in water decreases at higher temperature as a result it becomes more difficult to breathe less dissolved oxygen hence the aquatic species are not comfortable in warm water.

As solubility of gas is inversely proportional to temperature, oxygen is more soluble in cold water due to less temperature. If availablity of oxygen is there so aquatic species find it easier to live in cold water rather than hot water.
