Theme of this poem is : Poet tells us that this earth will end either in fire i.e envy,desire etc.or in ice i.e hatred for each other . Poet suggests that to save earth we must live together peacefully. Here fire is used as a symbol of envy and desire of material things and ice is a symbol of hatred.
