p(x)=x^2+kx-5/4=0 If x=1/2 Then p(1/2)= (1/2)^2+k(1/2)-5/4=0 p(1/2)= 1/4+k/2 -5/4=0 => -4/4+k/2=0 => k/2 -1=0 => k/2 =1 => k=2........ans.
