Solenoid is a straight coil having uniform number of turns per unit length. A Toroid is an endless Solenoid.It is in the form of Hollow sphere, having large number of turns.

The differnce is that the solenoid is the straight coil whereas the toroid is the bent solenoid which have ring or doughnut shape. And toroid have greater magnetic field as compare to solenoid at its center due to ring shape.
