Easy way to find out instantaneous velocity is to do differentiation of dispacement witch respect to time that is: V=dx/dt

Instantaneous velocity is a useful tool to determine velocity at any point or any time for a body in non uniform motion. For example, average velocity in a fixed time interval is given by,<v> = Δχ/Δt where Δχ is the distance covered in time interval Δt.When Δt becomes infinitesimaly small,it gives the instantaneous velocity.Or, v = limΔt->0 Δχ/Δt = dx/dt by language of calculus. Now, let the displacement of a body with respect to time is given by x = t^2+2t+1.To determine the velocity at 4s, we have to determine the value of the deriviative of x w.r.t. t at t=4.Or, v(4)= [d(t^2+2t+1)/dt ]_4=[2t+2]_4 =10 m/s.

Sorry it will be dx /dt

By differentiating the function of position Eg- let x = 4t^2+3t+4 then velocity = dy/dx(4t^2+3t+4) = 8t+3. And time will be most probably provided in the question.
