Using the identity (a + b)3 = a3 + b3 + 3a2b + 3ab2 , we have , we have
= (3a)3 + (4b)3 + 3 (3a)2(4b) + 3(3a) (4b)2
= 27a3 + 64b3 + 108a2b + 144ab2
which is the required expanded form.
