Length of the painting along with frame = 140 + 10 + 10 =  160 cm
Breadth of the painting along with frame = 80 + 10 + 10 =  100 cm

Area of cardboard required =  {tex}160 \times 100 = 16000 \ cm^2 {/tex}

{tex}= {16000\over 100 \times 100 } = 1.6 \ m^2 {/tex}
