A luminous body can serve as a source of light. A luminous body is an object that shines by its own light. The sun is our chief source of light. It is naturally luminous. Fire, too, is luminous. A
A non-luminous body cannot serve as a source of light. A non-luminous body is an object that does not shines by its own light. It needs a luminous body in its surrounding whose light it can reflect and become visible. Examples of non-luminous objects are Trees, Books, Wall's etc.
Incandescence means producing a bright light from a heated filament or other part: an incandescent lamp.
