    an = n2 - 1
    Put n = 1, 2, 3, 4, ..... we get,
    a1 = 12 - 1 = 1 - 1 = 0
    a2 = 22 - 1 = 4 - 1 = 3
    a3 = 32 - 1 = 9 - 1 = 8
    a4 = 42 - 1 = 16 - 1 = 15, and so on.
    Hence, the given sequence is 0, 3, 8, 15
    a2 - a1 = 3 - 0 = 3
    a3 - a2 = 8 - 3 = 5
    As a2 - a1 {tex} \ne {/tex} a3 - a2, the given sequence is not an AP.
