In this type of reaction an intermediate is formed which is a carboncation. It's reactivity order is tertiary > secondary > primary which is due to stability of CARBOCATION and it occurs in presence of a protective solvent.

It is a unimolecular reaction which which follows first order kinetics. And the reaction is in the text book itself.
