f =- 30/2 = -15cm ( Negative sign for cancave mirror)
m = 5
We know that m= - v/u
Therefore (-5u) =( v)
Using (1/v) + (1/u) = (1/f )
(1/-5u) + ( 1/u) = (1/-15)
Therefore, (5u /4) = -15
Thus, u = -12 cm
The object should be placed at a distance of 12cm from the mirror to get 5 times magnified image.
