Satyagraha is derived from the Sanskrit word 'satya' and 'agraha' which means the path followed by the truth. The idea of Satyagraha emphasized the power of truth. It suggested that if the cause was true and struggle was against injustice, then physical force was not necessary to fight the oppressor.
