Magnet attracts iron due to the influence of their magnetic feild upon the iron. Before a picec of iron enters the magnetic feild of a magnet polarization of the irons atom is random. When exposed the magnetic feild the atom begins to alight their electrons with the flow of magnetic feild which make the iron magentized as well. This in trun creates an attractio between two magnetized objacts.
