Rational are the numbers which can be written in the p/q form. Irrational no. Are the numbers which can not be written in the p/q form

Numbers such as 3/8 and -4/9 are also rational because their numerators and denominators are both whole numbers. Alternatively, an irrational number is any number that is not rational. It is a number that cannot be written as a ratio of two integers (or cannot be expressed as a fraction).
