The magnitudes of the gravitational and electrostatic force are given by,
{tex}F _ { G } = G \frac { m _ { 1 } m _ { 2 } } { r ^ { 2 } }{/tex}
{tex}F _ { E } = k \frac { q _ { 1 } q _ { 2 } } { r ^ { 2 } }{/tex}
So, the ratio is {tex}\frac { F _ { G } } { F _ { E } } = \frac { G m _ { e } ^ { 2 } } { k e ^ { 2 } }{/tex}
where 1/r2 has been cancelled.
