Question:
The vector sum of the forces of 10N and 6N can be
(a) 2N
(b) 8N
(c) 18N
(d) 20N
Maximum resultant of vectors = 10 + 6 = 16 N
Minimum resultant of vectors = 10 - 6 = 4 N
Force should lie in between maximum and minimum resultant of vectors.
The force must lie between the range of maximum and minimum resultant of these vectors .
In option (a) , 2N ‹ 4N
In option (b), 4N ‹8N ‹16N , it lies between the range So, this is correct answer.
In option (c) 18N › 16N
In option (d) 20N›16N
Hence, option (b) is correct.
