Resistance will be 4 times because as the length gets double(2 l ) , area will becomes half(A/2) then send the downward 2 to upward , u will get 4 times the original one......Hope this help

Resistance becomes double because RESISTANCE is directly proportional to Length. Here the length is double not diameter which is diameter of thickness doubled

Because the thickness of a wire is usually represented by its diameter. Thus when the diameter of a wire is doubled (made 2 times), its resistance becomes one-fourth (1/4).
