Mass of gold = 197.97 ~= 198 amu. therefore Moles of gold in 1.0 gm = 1/M No. of atoms in 1.0 gm gold = (1.0/M) × 6.022×10^23 .....Atomic no of gold = electrons in one gold atom = 79. Therefore, charge on whole 1.0 gm = (1/M).An.79 Calculate 1% of above. charge (1/M).An.79.(0.01) = 0.024 ×10^23 therefore charge carried by 1% of electrons = 0.024 × 10^23 ×(-1.6 × 10^-19 C)
